Leveraging the internet's vast
resources
should not be restricted by geographical boundaries. Many users have turned to
free VPN Chrome
extensions
like MediaHint to bypass these restrictions and enjoy unrestrained
access
to online
content
. Although advertised as one of the best free VPNs, user reviews and aggregate ratings of this
Chrome extension
paint a different picture. This article aims to delve into the specifics of those reviews to uncover the reasons behind MediaHint's disappointingly low rating of 2.02 out of 5.
MediaHint began its journey with a promising start, hailed as an effective tool for
VPN tunneling
, enabling users to unblock and access geo-restricted content. Some users lauded its functionality, praising its
vpn speed
and its capacity to function as a reliable web proxy. But as time wore on, the negative reviews began to pile up, highlighting significant issues with the Chrome VPN extension.
Many users noted a decline in the extension’s performance over time. A user named Tony Simmons lamented the extension's gradual decline, citing difficulties in using the contact form, and the impossibility of reaching customer service. The lack of support was a common complaint, as echoed by Nuno Canha, who noticed the extension no longer functioning. Antonio Merola's feedback was curt, stating "non funziona," Italian for "it doesn't work."
A Ray of Hope in a Sea of Discontent
However, amid the criticism, there were a few positive reviews. User D S spoke highly of the support team's responsiveness and the ultimate resolution of his problems. He acknowledged the extension's imperfections but appreciated its utility in enabling access to channels outside his country. These reviews provide a small glimmer of hope for the extension's redemption.
However, the overwhelming majority of user reviews reflect dissatisfaction with the extension. Frustrations range from the lack of customer service response to the extension's inability to unblock popular platforms such as Netflix and Hulu. The general consensus seems to label the MediaHint extension as a "scam," underscoring the severity of these issues.
Given these reviews, the MediaHint Chrome Extension falls drastically short of its claim to be a top Chrome extension for VPN services. The lack of consistent functionality and poor customer service, coupled with its inability to deliver on its primary promise of unblocking geo-restricted content, make this extension a far cry from the best free VPN Chrome extensions available. It would be prudent to explore other more reliable options for secure browsing and maintaining online privacy.
In conclusion, it's essential to consider user reviews and aggregate ratings when choosing Chrome extensions, as they often provide a clear picture of the extension's capabilities and shortcomings. Always prioritize your online safety, web security, and privacy protection when considering such tools.
10 Reviews For This Extension
Used to word for BBCiplayer... now it is malfunction.. cancel subscription
When it works, it's great. And it did for me most of time for years. But when it doesn't support it the worst. Absolutely awful. The support form on their site brings up an error message even when filled out properly & has done so for a couple years. No response to emails, twitter, dms through social media. Once in awhile I get a dm saying 'oh sorry we missed this. we'll do better' but they never do better. Impossible to get a response. It's not been working for about 2 weeks now and no help from support at all. Have message pretty much daily. They'll still take your money. Only thing to do is cancel.
THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY. Do not install this app at all as the company will charge you multiple times in one day for an annual subscription. You cannot remove your credit card from their app either. Their "support" is non-existent and they do not answer their phone or reply to any support emails. Corrupt company. Google should remove their extension from the store as they are a fraudulent company.
Was working fine, used it for a number of years but now it no longer works. impossible to send an email using the contact form. Customer service is impossible to contact. Yet again it has stopped working and no reply to email. 23/10/2023
It worked initially. No it does not work and nobody from the support team replies.

Worked very intermittently - no reply from support on all three occasions trying to contact them. I'm out.
Use to work great but it stopped working for Netflix about a year and a half ago and now it no longer works for Hulu.
